What the Qur’an, Sunnah, and the righteous early generations are agreed upon on this topic is that faith consists of both words and deeds, and may increase and decrease; there is no faith unless it is accompanied by actions, just as there is no faith unless it is accompanied by words. So faith is not valid unless both are present together.
Imam Ash-Shaafi‘i (may ALLAH have mercy on him) in one of his books said: The consensus of the Swahaabah(companions of the prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and Taabi‘een (The generation after the companions), and those who came after them, and our contemporaries, is that faith consists of words, deeds and intentions, and none of the three is valid except with the others. Saying I am a Muslim is not enough my brothers and sisters. We must act to earn that title of A MUSLIM. We must SHOW to non Muslims what Islam is all about not by telling them or by our dress code. It's a sad reality that We Muslims are Minority to non Muslims but unfortunately majority of thieves in any community are Muslims, majority of bad boys or girls today are Muslims, the title A MUSLIM is now associated with bad name why? Because we are failing to live our lives by the Qur'an and Sunnah that's all. We are Muslims by name not by actions. We are busy with politics, fighting each other, hating each other allowing the kuffar to humiliate us.
